Windows XP - Support

By 2014 Windows XP will no longer be supported by Microsoft, no windows updates will be available after this date. What does this mean to anyone still using Windows XP, well in short it means that there will be no Windows Updates avaiable, no security updates, no hardware driver updates and no hot fixes. This does not mean that your Windows XP will no longer work, it just means that you will not get any updates or support from Microsoft.

Local IT support companies, such as ourselves will continue to support any customer that has XP. If you have purchased a computer from a retail outlet that does not provide you with the windows disc,and you require windows to be reinstalled, as from the end of June it will be difficult to purchase. Therefore you will be best advised to upgrade to Windows Vista. The obvious problem with this is that it may be necessary to upgrade components on your PC so that it can cope with the upgrade. In may cases the most economical solution would be to replace the whole system with something a bit more moden.
